What was once a brown coal mine has been transformed into a fully new landscape. Since 1999, the resulting Olbersdorfer See even features a bathing beach with a neighbouring camping area. Numerous activities like surfing, kite surfing, or diving are available at the approximately 60 hectare-large lake. For runners, hikers, and triathletes, Olbersdorf is the setting for big events like the Zittauer Mountain Run & Hiking Meet-up and the athletically challenging O-SEE CHALLENGE. For active vacationers, the community will be presenting many more opportunities over the next few years in addition to the dense network of hiking trails, bike paths, and riding trails.
