Hiking path - Zittauer Jakobsweg

All roads may lead to Rome, but plenty of paths lead to Santiago de Compostela, where the apostle James the Elder is supposedly buried. A small portion of this still lively: the old pilgrim's route through the Zittauer Gebirge between Gnesen, Görlitz , and Prague, which connects with the Europe-wide network of St. James' Trails in the Czech capital.

This hiking route connects valuable sacred buildings, including numerous St. James' churches, and leads through the southern area across numerous pretty landscapes. In May 2008, the Zittauer Jakobsweg is officially opened. For this reason, there are still a few slight gaps that need to be filled up as quickly as possible: there still isn't any signage featuring the shell on the Czech side, and typical pilgrim accommodations and signs are still missing along the trail.
